These are new build hospitals.  They don’t look like hospitals, they don’t feel like hospitals, and they don’t smell like hospitals.  so that it is a successful response to the client brief.

The design challenge in a hospital environment is always to incorporate the efficient function, comfort and aesthetics of a quality contemporary healthcare space, and to achieve this in a way that helps support the well-being of the patient.  The anxiety that the patient, or visitor, can often feel when visiting a hospital can be supported and managed with the staff, and with the careful layout .  It is often how we process the patient.  This can be complemented with both the signage and the colour-ways.  With the thoughtful  use of colour, especially the calming effect with shades of orange, we strive to provide a landscape that will help optimise positive outcomes for the patients and visitors.  A number of the pieces were designed by our studio, and were then manufactured by favourite craftsmen in Italy.
